Algebra help please!!! Find the equation of the line that passes through ( 5, 4 ) and is parallel to the line with the equation y = 3x + 7.

If the lines are parallel, then their slope are equal.

For new line 
y = mx+b
m=3
y=3x + b

To find b, we need to substitute values of x and y from point (5,4).
4=3*5 + b
4 = 15 + b
b= - 11

y=3x - 11
