The reason why this is an anecdote rather than an analogy is because an anecdote is a brief narration of a couple of paragraphs of an interesting or biographical happening whereas an analogy is a comparison of two otherwise unlikely events based on likeliness of a particular aspect and this may simply be accomplished in a single sentence.
