Solve the system of linear equations using elimination.

10x + 7y = 12
8x + 7y = 18

10x + 7y = 12

-(8x + 7y = 18)

----------------------

2x=-6

x=-3

Then plug in -3 for x into any of the equations to get y.

8x + 7y = 18

8(-3)+7y=18

7y=42

y=6

answer: x=-3, y=6, intersection point: (-3,6)

Now take the other equation and make it negative

10x+7y=12
-8x-7y=18
So solve
2x=-6

2. 2

X=-3

No plug in

-30+7y=12
+30
7y=42

Y=6
