Explanation:

The sinking of the Lusitania caused Americans to go to war, this is because the Germans where doing unrestricted submarine warfare. This is when the submarines would sink any ship they see no matter if it is a civilian ship. American passengers where on the Lusitania and where killed by the submarine attacks. (The Zimmerman telegram was another reason)
