Answer:

Scrooge was a banker. He used to lend money to people and charge interest from them. He was the sole proprietor of the counting-house which served as a business for him through which he exchanged money. Had he been alive, he would probably work as a businessman as the situations had made him so bitter that the only thing he would consider now is his own profit.
