On a coin, the probability of heads:

P ( H ) = 1 2/2

ON a die, the probability of getting a number less than  4:

P  ( 1 , 2 , 3, 4 ) =  4 /6 P( H  and  no. less than 4 ) = 1 /2× 4 /6  = 1 /2 × 2/ 6  = 2/6 = 1 /3
