You can take someone's fingerprints in various ways. 3 most common are:

1. You rub your finger into pencil lead and then into a see through tape that copies it.
2. You rub your finger into ink and then you just roll it over a piece of white paper
3. You can electronically scan your fingerprint with machines that do that.
