Subtract both the equations by putting the variables at the same spot and multiplying one of the equations both so that you ave at least 1 similar constant
9x-y=6 (Multiply with 4)
5x-4y=5

36x-4y=24
5x-4y  =5 (Change signs so that one of the variables get cancelled as they
                  have same constant now)

36x-4y=24
-5x+4y=-5
---------------
31x=19

x=19/31

Substitute x in equation to get y
